This new system made by Sony is set to be released October 1st 2009 in north America and Europe and Nov 1st in Japan. This is the new system in the PSP line made by Sony but is not designed to replace the PSP-3000 which Sony will continue to support and sell.

While this is basically a PSP it is kind of different from the other PSPs. The PSP GO is significantly different it is 56% smaller and 41% lighter making it the perfect hand held gaming system busy. One significant difference of the PSP Go is that it doesn't contain a UMD drive, instead it contains a 16GB internal flash memory to store media, videos and games. Because of the fact that the PSP GO does not have a UMD drive the user will have to download games from the Sony store on the web.


The PSP GO also has an incorporated Wifi making internet connectivity ideal for those travelling. The over all look of the PSP GO is reasonably different as the screen slides up to bare the controls so it gives it a little more compact look. Also the PSP GO's rechargeable battery isn't removable or replaceable by the user.

The Negatives of the PSP GO


As for negatives it is actually early to tell if there are any internal software negatives of the PSP GO. Also so far as negatives go it's more of a preference. Some might find the limited way of reaching games to be a negative. The sole way to get games is online at the Sony store. This significantly eradicates purchasing games from other sources at a maybe less expensive price . The incontrovertible fact that there's no UMD drive may be a negative to some as the sixteen GB can only hold so much media, videos and games. As for the battery not being removable or replaceable may be an annoyance to some as if you require the battery to be replaced or fixed it'll take sending it back to the construction.


The Positives of the PSP GO

This is a great new release from Sony in the PSP line. It's lighter, and smaller and the slide up screen gives it that additional smooth look. With the built in wifi, and 16GB flash memory it is a great hand held gaming console that offers the sleek look and the convince of having the ability to download and store your games immediately on your PSP GO right from the Sony online store. Some will like the undeniable fact that this PSP doesn't have a UMD drive this makes it more cartable. The online Sony store is the sole place where one can download games of the PSP GO this is a great thing for those that need quality games. This guarantees that you are getting Sony's quality games that are fit and intended for your PSP GO


As with any electronic there are positives and negatives yet either are way more a matter of opinion then fact. If you like a lighter, sleeker and more convenient gaming console then the PSP GO is for you. This is a more recent sleeker and different all around from it's PSP -3000 bro.
